A big part of my job is understanding people and reading the room—figuring out how each couple likes to celebrate. That’s why the first conversation is so important; it’s about seeing if there’s a connection and whether I’m the right fit to help bring their wedding vision to life.

When I first spoke with Loan and Michael, their dynamic as a couple was immediately clear. Loan had a strong, decisive personality, and I thrive with clients who have a clear vision or know how to ask the right questions. Michael, with his calm, clever sense of humor, perfectly balanced the pair. By the end of the call, we all knew this was going to be a perfect fit.
Their wedding at the stunning Wequassett Resort in Cape Cod exceeded expectations. The outdoor ceremony, right by the water, looked like something out of a painting. For cocktail hour, Loan and Michael asked me to play piano, which I love because music has always been my passion. Playing in a beautiful, waterside venue for such a cool crowd is one of those “pinch me, this is my job” moments.

My wife Cindy joined me that day, and as soon as she arrived, she remarked on how gorgeous the wedding was and how amazing the couple seemed. She was right—Loan and Michael could have stepped off a red carpet. Loan had envisioned a Motown vibe for dinner, paired with champagne-colored uplighting, which set a perfect tone for the evening and got everyone ready to dance.
The energy on the dance floor was electric all night. When it was time for my signature “wham/bam/slam” finale, the crowd went wild as we transitioned from Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight” into “Mr. Brightside” and finished with Blink-182. It was a rock ‘n’ roll ending to an idyllic wedding with two incredible people. I still can’t believe this is my job!
